This is a PRE-ORDER for oil pans. They will be available for order from January 6 - February 3 2024. After Feb 3 they will not be available again until the next Pre-Order ( usually once a year). The lead time before they ship is 8 weeks after the Feb 3. We will update everyone along the way on current status.
After months of work, we are proud to release our new low profile BEAMS 3SGE billet oil pan. We had a few goals to achieve with this product:
1) Improve ground clearance when installed into an ae86 or similar chassis.
2) Do so without losing any oil capacity.
3) Create an oil pickup and internal baffling system that works with the new low profile design.
4) Designed to work with the JSP engine mount kit that leans the engine at the factory 3 degree angle.
NOTE: If your engine mount kit sits the engine vertically then the passenger side of the pan may hang under the crossmember slightly.
I want to be extremely clear and honest about this product. It’s first and foremost goal is to improve ground clearance. In a perfect world this oil pan would be much deeper and have increased capacity. Do to the very limited depth when installed into an AE86 or similar chassis, we had to get creative with the design to maintain the standard capacity. This starts with a two piece design. The upper portion opens up the flange area to allow additional capacity to be added to the back of the pan (crossmember side). This also holds the baffle and internal trap door system.
The lower section features a small sump that the oil pickup housing sits inside. It also has the oil drain port (m12 1.25) and a 1/8” npt port for an oil temperature sensor. A plug is also included.
The final design is roughly 25mm shorter than stock.
The new oil pickup housing and tube has been designed specifically for this oil pan. The tube is 7/8” tubing tig welded to laser cut 1/4” flanges. The housing is cnc machined from 6061 aluminum and features an o-ring fit to the tube. It is a low profile design that sits further back and lower than the factory style.
The total package achieves our goal of reducing the risk of damaging your pan, but without making any sacrifices for quality or performance. As an added bonus we are also including our new magnetic oil drain plug.
Please make sure you maintain a full oil level by checking the level after a short drive after the installation.
DISCLAIMER: We have done testing with the pan to ensure that there are no oil starvation issues under normal driving and even performance driving. However if you are planning to use this on a race car or a car using slick tires and seeing extreme sustained g forces we recommend having adequate oil pressure monitoring and possibly accusump in place to prevent engine damage.
